I. Cutting type

Cutting drilling uses bucket teeth and double-bottom sand bucket with friction type drill pipe to drill into strata with low resistance, such as mud layer, powder and sand layer where the geological strength is within 400 kPa.

II. Crushing type

Most of them use double-bottom rock drilling buckets, which can be equipped with friction or machine-locked drill pipes according to the geological strength, and can drill sand and gravel, mudstone, sandstone, shale and medium weathering with the strength of 500 kPa to 1000 kPa.

III. Toggle type

It can be used with double-bottom sand fishing and double-bottom rock entry drill bucket, also can be used with Bauer teeth. Due to the different kinds of geology, it leads to the change of drilling way consequently, for example, when the pebble layer, due to the irregular arrangement of pebbles, which cannot be cut and broken, the toggle type drilling can be used, hanging the drill pipe with the main volume, toggling the pebbles with the tip of the drill bucket teeth, loosening the pebbles and then putting down the drill bucket in floating, this operation is to avoid the strength and vibration of the pebbles.

IV. Milling type

Using rock-entry cartridge drill and tooth shaft drill with machine-locked drilling rod to drill into rock formations calculated with single circumferential compressive strength from several MPa to tens of MPa, usually for rock-entry end-bearing piles, by ring-cutting and grinding into the rock with cartridge drill or by grinding with tooth shaft drill, while not excluding the possibility of crushing according to the type of rock formation, strength, brittleness and fracture.
